PT | A Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny  inaugura a 2 de Novembro a exposição "Evocando Mário Cesariny". Por ocasião dos 10 anos da morte de Mário Cesariny e do 3º aniversário da sua Casa da Liberdade , terá lugar uma exposição evocativa do autor através de obras e espólio do artista pertença desta instituição, situada no centro histórico de Lisboa e que funciona em articulação com a Perve Galeria que lhe é contigua. A Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny é uma instituição com características museológicas que reune uma coleção documental e artística, iniciada a partir da década de 1990, constituída por vários núcleos temáticos, dedicados a diferentes áreas artísticas de entre as quais se destacam: o Surrealismo Nacional e Internacional, as Vanguardas e Neovanguardas Portuguesas do Século XX, a Arte Moderna e Contemporânea Africana de países lusófonos e a Arte Emergente nacional e Internacional. A relevância que este legado foi assumindo com o passar dos anos, especialmente após 2006, na dimensão simbólica assumida pela vontade de empreender homenagem a Mário Cesariny, materializou-se na elaboração da Casa da Liberdade como espaço de desenvolvimento artístico e cultural onde, a par com exposições temáticas autorais, a sua coleção é disponibilizada ao público.  EN | Freedom House - Mário Cesariny presents on November 2 a exhibition "Evocando Mário Cesariny". On the occasion of the 10 anniversary of the death of Mario Cesariny and the 3rd anniversary of his Freedom House, there will be an evocative exhibition of the author through works and the artist's estate belonging to this institution, located in the historic center of Lisbon, which works in conjunction with the Perve Gallery which it is contiguous. Freedom House - Mario Cesariny is an institution with museum characteristics that brings together a documentary and artistic collection, started from the 1990s, consisting of several thematic groups dedicated to different artistic areas among which are: the National Surrealism and International, the Vanguards and Portuguese neovanguards of the twentieth century, the Modern and Contemporary Art African Lusophone countries and the national Emerging Art and International. The relevance of this legacy has been taking over the years, especially after 2006, the symbolic dimension assumed by the will to undertake tribute to Mario Cesariny, materialized in the development of Freedom House as artistic and cultural development of space where the pair with copyright thematic exhibitions, its collection is available to the public. Solo exhibition by Carlos Zingaro | 21.7 > 10.9.2016

 PT |  A exposição de Carlos ‘Zingaro’ “Agora na Ágora” centra-se na obra plástica e musical de um autor que é seguramente um dos músicos e compositores portugueses mais internacionais e o mais conceituado na área da música experimental e jazz. Paralelamente a um notável percurso musical, profusamente aclamado pela crítica, Carlos ‘Zingaro’ desenvolveu ao longo dos anos um trabalho plástico de excelência que esteve patente em importantes exposições e que foi alvo, em 2013, da exposição antológica “Seres Grotescos” que a Perve Galeria lhe dedicou,  assinalando os 40 anos do seu percurso artístico.

Procurando honrar a sua obra transversal e multidisciplinar, expressa quer musicalmente, quer plasticamente sob as formas de pintura, banda desenhada e instalação multimédia, a Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny apresenta agora um conjunto alargado de obras do autor realizadas entre 1991 e 2016, que configuram uma “nova incursão de Carlos “Zingaro” pelo território público da arte, numa súbita reafirmação do essencial: a arte fazendo-se gosto, mesmo quando é só o espelho do que temos - seres grotescos. Nesta orquestração pictórica que “Zingaro” oferece, há o Agora e há a Ágora, onde tudo se volta a passar, como centralidade da vida, colocamo-nos nós, em antevisão, no centro da discussão para tentarmos qualquer forma de redenção que não apenas nos salve: nos dê uma certeza que seja de um futuro melhor e nos devolva a qualquer sítio onde sejamos viáveis, novamente.” Patente até 10 de Setembro.  Curadoria: Carlos Cabral Nunes. EN | The exhibition highlights on the visual and musical work of an author who is certainly one of the musicians and most international Portuguese composers and the most prestigious in the field of experimental and jazz music. Alongside a remarkable musical career, profusely critically acclaimed Carlos 'Zingaro' developed over the years a plastic work of excellence that was shown in important exhibitions and that was the objective in 2013, the anthological exhibition "Grotesque Beings" that Perve Gallery dedicated to him, marking its 40-year career.

Looking for honoring his multidisciplinary and transversal work, expressed musically, artistically or in the forms of painting, comics and multimedia installation, the Freedom House - Mario Cesariny now features a large number of author's works made between 1991 and 2016, which constitutes a “new incursion of Carlos ‘Zingaro’ ” into public territory of art, in a sudden, reaffirmation of the essential: art making is like, even when it's just a mirror of what we have - grotesque beings.       In this pictorial orchestration “Zingaro” offers, there is Now and there is the Agora, where everything repeats, as the centrality of life, we put in us, in preview, at the center of discussion to try any form of redemption that not only save us: give us a certainty to be of a better future and return it to any place where we are viable again".      The exhibition will be open until September 10. Exposição Individual de Manuela Jardim | 24.5 > 9.7.2016

PT | A Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny  inaugura a 24 de Maio a Exposição individual de Manuela Jardim “Na feliz miscigenação das coisas”.   A mostra apresenta um conjunto alargado de obras da autora, com peças de pintura, escultura e instalação inspiradas na diversidade da plasticidade exuberante da panaria histórica cabo-verdiana e guineense, tema que foi ao longo de vários anos alvo de um intenso processo de investigação por parte da autora.    Nascida na Guiné, licenciada em escultura pela Universidade de Belas Artes de Lisboa, em 1975, Manuela Jardim frequentou depois cursos de gravura, têxteis e serigrafia na Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo e no Institut National D´Education Populaire de Paris.   A formação plástica inicial aliada ao trabalho de investigação no campo das raízes culturais, das matrizes étnicas e dos têxteis africanos, que intensificou sobretudo a partir de 2003, proporcionaram uma releitura sobre a sua própria cultura, que transpõe para uma obra contemporânea e muito singular.   Da exposição “Na feliz miscigenação das coisas” emana esse olhar pessoal e sincrético sobre o sentido estético e o profundo significado humano que recolhe da ancestralidade dos objectos e que transforma por via da experimentação e reinvenção técnica dos processos criativos ancorados nas construções realizadas por gente anónima não apenas de África mas igualmente de outros horizontes geográficos.   Sobre a autora escreveram, entre outras personalidades, Maria Barroso e o grande mestre da pintura moçambicana,  Malangatana, que dela disse: “Manuela Jardim preenche um espaço cultural numa dinâmica mais veloz que o tempo que temos (…) retracta para o mundo esse seu interior como cumpridora duma missão. Caminha, encaminhando outros para o saber sobre o mundo, que não seja só através daquilo que a natureza nos deu. Alimenta-nos daquilo que lhe vai na alma e engravida o espaço para colhermos os frutos que nos enriquece.  EN | Freedom House - Mário Cesariny presents on May 24 a solo exhibition of Manuela Jardim "In the happy miscegenation of things". The show features a prime selection of works of the author, with painting, sculpture and installation inspired by the diversity and lush plasticity of the ancient Cape Verdean and Guinean textiles, a theme that was the target of several years of an intensive research process by the author.   Born in Guinea, degree in sculpture from the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon in 1975, Manuela Jardim attended engraving, textile and screen printing courses on The Espírito Santo Silva Foundation and the Institut National D'Education Populaire in Paris.   Her initial artistic training combined with work research in the field of cultural roots, ethnic matrices, and ancient African textiles, which she intensified especially since 2003, provided a reinterpretation of her own culture, which Manuela transposes into a contemporary and unique artistic work.    The exhibition "In the happy miscegenation of things" emanates a personal and syncretic look of the aesthetic sense and the deep human meaning that she collects from the ancestry of objects and that she transforms through experimentation and technique reinvention of the creative processes anchored in constructions made by anonymous people not only from Africa but also from other geographical horizons.   About the author wrote, among other personalities, Maria Barroso and the great master of Mozambican painting, Malangatana, which said: "Manuela Jardim fills a cultural space in a faster dynamics that time we have (...) portrays to the world her interior as dutiful to a mission. Walks, directing others to a knowledge about the world, that would be not only through the one that nature has given us. Feeds us what it is in the soul and impregnates the space so we can reap the fruits that enrich us. Being in front of his work is like drink a wisdom that adds our meeting.
