PT| A Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny inaugura no próximo sábado, 16 de maio, entre as 17h e as 20h, a exposição "Anatomia do Sonho". Esta é a primeira mostra individual em Portugal de Teresa Roza d'Oliveira após o seu aclamado destaque na secção Spotlight da Frieze Masters, em Londres, em outubro de 2025.
Patente até 4 de julho, a exposição coincidirá ainda com a presença da obra da artista na ARCOlisboa (de 28 a 31 de maio), num projeto assinado pela Perve Galeria.
ENG| Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny is pleased to announce the opening of "Anatomy of the Dream" on Saturday, May 16th, from 5 PM to 8 PM. This marks Teresa Roza d'Oliveira’s first solo exhibition in Portugal following her acclaimed presentation in the Spotlight section of Frieze Masters, in London, in October 2025.
Running until July 4th, the exhibition coincides with the presentation of her work at ARCOlisboa by Perve Galeria, taking place between May 28th and 31st.

Após o reconhecimento internacional na secção Spotlight da Frieze Masters, em Londres, a Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny apresenta Anatomia do Sonho, a primeira mostra individual de Teresa Roza d’Oliveira (1945–2019) desde a sua apresentação naquele palco global. A exposição mergulha no universo singular de uma artista que, entre Moçambique e Portugal, construiu uma linguagem própria para abordar temas frequentemente silenciados pela história oficial.
Nas obras reunidas emerge uma mitologia íntima, habitada por figuras antropomórficas e animais que parecem brotar de uma memória simultaneamente coletiva e pessoal. Teresa Roza d’Oliveira convoca estas presenças para explorar as tensões da sexualidade e o peso da violência social e política, incidindo, por vezes de forma crua, sobre a condição da mulher e a soberania do seu corpo. Não há aqui intenção de ilustrar conceitos nem de assumir um discurso didático; é na força das imagens que reside o seu poder, permitindo que a estranheza das figuras revele as marcas do tempo e das estruturas de poder.
Nesta Anatomia, o sonho manifesta-se em toda a sua ambiguidade, oscilando entre o etéreo e a confrontação. A prática da artista transforma a experiência vivida num campo onde o humano e o animalesco se entrelaçam, questionando normas e limites impostos aos corpos e às identidades. Ao apresentar esta seleção, reafirma-se Teresa Roza d’Oliveira como uma voz feminista incontornável, cuja obra resiste a leituras simplificadores e interpela quem a observa com uma honestidade desconcertante.
A exposição inscreve-se num momento alargado de apresentação da sua obra, que inclui a sua participação pela Perve Galeria na ARCOlisboa, entre 28 e 31 de maio, sublinhando a atualidade e a renovada atenção crítica em torno do seu percurso.

Following her international acclaim at the Spotlight section of Frieze Masters in London, Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny presents "Anatomia do Sonho" (Anatomy of the Dream). This marks the first solo exhibition of Teresa Roza d’Oliveira (1945–2019) since her debut on that global stage. The exhibition delves into the singular universe of an artist who, navigating between Mozambique and Portugal, forged a distinct visual language to address themes often silenced by official history.
Within this body of work, an intimate mythology emerges—inhabited by anthropomorphic figures and creatures that seem to spring from a memory both collective and personal. Roza d’Oliveira summons these presences to explore the tensions of sexuality and the weight of social and political violence, offering a raw gaze into the female condition and the sovereignty of the body. Eschewing didacticism or the mere illustration of concepts, the power of her work resides in the images themselves, allowing the uncanny nature of her figures to reveal the scars of time and the imprints of power structures.
In this Anatomy, the dream manifests in all its ambiguity, oscillating between the ethereal and the confrontational. The artist’s practice transforms lived experience into a realm where the human and the animalistic intertwine, challenging the norms and boundaries imposed on bodies and identities. By presenting this selection, Teresa Roza d’Oliveira is reaffirmed as an essential feminist voice whose work resists oversimplification and engages the viewer with disconcerting honesty.
