EN | LusoPhonies collection, that we are honored to present in Turkey, has it’s VIP preview on September 11th in Istanbul at the TomTom Kirmizi building, the exhibition relies on a historical building to bring artists together as in this celebration of artistic nature. Manuel João Vieira, one of the most important and multidisciplinary artists of his generation, who relies on his social critique to question several subjects had his performance called "Longing Paradise", where he questions the life of artists and art itself, it is seen as a place where there is freedom to build a space simultaneously existent and non-existent, which allows through determination an idea of perfection, and the possible (re)construction of paradise as a future project, starting from the memory and nostalgia of the perfect place. Where a selection of objects is considered perfect, thought behind the search for a New World.
The contemporary artists are featured at the Contemporary Istanbul Artfair include: Cruzeiro Seixas (Portugal), Ernesto Shikhani (Mozambique), Manuel João Vieira (Portugal), Marcelo Grassmann (Brazil), Manuela Jardim (Guinea-Bissau), Tchalé Figueira (Cape Verde), among others.
