ENG| The exhibition "Feminie Lusophilia", on show at aPGn2 – Alcântara, highlights the work of women artists within the Lusophone context. Anticipating the 50th anniversary of African liberation movements, it denounces the historical erasure of women’s roles in these processes and in the art world. Featuring works by Reinata Sadimba (1945, Mozambique), Teresa Roza d'Oliveira (1945–2019, Mozambique), and Renée Gagnon (1942, Canada), the exhibition offers a critical reflection on female underrepresentation and calls for a more inclusive approach to art and collective memory.

The exhibition will be on display until June 28th.

Antecipando os 50 anos dos movimentos de libertação africanos, denuncia o apagamento histórico das mulheres nesses processos e no meio artístico. Com obras de Reinata Sadimba (1945, Moçambique), Teresa Roza d'Oliveira  (1945-2019, Moçambique) e Renée Gagnon (1942, Canadá), a mostra promove uma reflexão crítica sobre a sub-representação feminina e propõe um olhar mais inclusivo na arte e na memória coletiva.

During the 8th edition of ARCO Lisboa, from 28 May to 1 June, the gallery will operate with extended hours from 11 AM to 9 PM.

ENG| "Feminie Lusophilia" is presented at aPGn2 – Alcântara as an exhibition dedicated to the artistic production of women within the Lusophone context.

Anticipating the 50th anniversary of the liberation movements of Portuguese-speaking African countries, and drawing from the Lusophonies Collection, the exhibition sheds light on the legacy of artists who challenged established norms, broke through historical and cultural barriers, and yet were often marginalised, forgotten, or erased from collective memory.

The project invites a critical reflection on the erasure of women from historical and artistic narratives, highlighting their underrepresentation in the cultural sphere, as well as the institutional and social barriers that continue to hinder their recognition.

The spotlight is on artists such as Reinata Sadimba (1945, Mozambique), whose work exemplifies the complex intersection of art, resistance, and recognition; Teresa Roza d'Oliveira (1945–2019, Mozambique), an essential voice in the struggle for women’s rights, Mozambican independence, and the end of dictatorship in Portugal; and Renée Gagnon (1942, Canada), who explores Angola’s social and cultural fabric and is also featured in the current 8th edition of ARCO Lisboa.

Continuing the gallery’s mission, "Feminie Lusophilia" not only recovers silenced voices but also calls for a renewed perspective on Lusophone art—envisioning a more inclusive and plural future. By bringing together artists who have challenged and continue to challenge social, political, and cultural barriers, the exhibition reaffirms the urgent need for a more equitable artistic and cultural landscape—one that recognises diverse narratives and values the role of women in shaping history, art, and society.

Durante a 8ª edição da ARCO Lisboa, de 28 de maio a 1 de junho, a galeria apresenta um horário alargado das 11h às 21h.

PT|  "Lusofilia Feminina" surge na aPGn2 - Alcântara enquanto exposição dedicada à produção artística de mulheres no contexto da lusofonia.

Antecipando as comemorações do 50° aniversário dos movimentos de libertação de países africanos de língua portuguesa, e a partir da Coleção Lusofonias, a mostra dá visibilidade ao legado de artistas que desafiaram as normas estabelecidas, quebraram barreiras históricas e culturais, e, ainda assim, foram frequentemente marginalizadas, esquecidas e apagadas da memória coletiva. O projeto propõe uma reflexão crítica sobre o apagamento das mulheres na narrativa histórica e artística, sublinhando a sua sub-representação no meio cultural, bem como as barreiras institucionais e sociais que continuam a limitar o seu reconhecimento.

Em foco estão as artistas Reinata Sadimba (1945, Moçambique), cuja obra exemplifica a complexa interseção entre arte, resistência e reconhecimento, Teresa Roza d'Oliveira (1945–2019, Mozambique), uma voz essencial na luta pelos direitos das mulheres, pela independência de Moçambique e pelo fim da ditadura em Portugal, e Renée Gagnon (1942, Canadá), que investiga os tecidos sociais e culturais de Angola, também presente na 8ª edição da Arco Lisboa.

Dando continuidade à missão da galeria, "Lusofilia Feminina" não só resgata vozes silenciadas, mas também reivindica um novo olhar sobre a arte lusófona, propondo um futuro mais inclusivo e plural. Ao reunir artistas que desafiaram e continuam a desafiar barreiras sociais, políticas e culturais, a exposição reafirma a necessidade de um meio artístico e cultural mais equitativo, que reconheça a diversidade das narrativas e valorize o papel das mulheres na construção da história, da arte e da sociedade.
