PT| No próximo dia 15 de janeiro inaugura na Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny, em Alfama, a exposição “M.ART II por Cabral Nunes - 40 Anos de Atividade Artística”. Patente até 28 de fevereiro, a mostra reúne um corpo de obra que sintetiza quatro décadas de prática artística de Cabral Nunes, assinalando o seu regresso às exposições individuais em Portugal após 24 anos a participar em mostras coletivas. Um reencontro maior com uma obra que cruza intimidade, experimentação e imaginação.
ENG| On January 15, Freedom House – Mário Cesariny, in Alfama, Lisbon, will open the exhibition “M.ART II by Cabral Nunes – 40 Years of Artistic Activity”. On view until February 28, the exhibition brings together a body of work that synthesizes four decades of Cabral Nunes’ artistic practice, marking his return to solo exhibitions in Portugal after a 24-year hiatus. A major reunion with an oeuvre where intimacy, experimentation, and imagination converge.

A Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny tem o prazer de anunciar a inauguração da exposição “M.ART II por Cabral Nunes – 40 Anos de Atividade Artística”, patente entre 15 de janeiro e 28 de fevereiro de 2026.
Após uma presença continuada em diversas exposições coletivas e um interregno de 24 anos sem mostras individuais em Portugal, Cabral Nunes regressa agora ao contexto expositivo nacional com uma exposição que sintetiza quatro décadas de produção artística. Num momento em que apresenta simultaneamente obra nos Emirados Árabes Unidos, no ReKN, espaço artístico e cultural de Sheikha Maryam Al Qassimi, o artista revela em Lisboa um corpo de trabalho que revisita, de forma abrangente, a sua trajetória.
Utilizando “Cabral Nunes” como nome artístico — assinando enquanto autor com os seus apelidos materno e paterno — o artista apresenta em “M.ART II” uma reflexão profunda sobre os seus universos visíveis e invisíveis: constelações emocionais, territórios experimentais e narrativas fragmentadas que atravessam toda a sua obra. Ao longo de quarenta anos, construiu uma prática singular onde linguagens diversas se cruzam, técnicas tradicionais dialogam com tecnologias contemporâneas, e a experimentação convive com a intimidade.
A exposição propõe um espaço onde o cosmos se encontra com o corpo, onde o tecnológico se torna sensível, e onde as narrativas se organizam como constelações que refletem simultaneamente memória, emoção e imaginação. O público é convidado a descobrir obras que funcionam como mapas de uma travessia: desenhos, pinturas e instalações que revelam caminhos percorridos e imaginados — aqueles que, no testemunho do próprio artista, emergem do “oceano profundo” e se projetam no “Universo onde os que amámos dançam connosco”.
Apresentada na Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny, espaço profundamente ligado à experimentação, à liberdade poética e à transversalidade das linguagens artísticas, a exposição revisita uma história criativa que atravessa gerações e geografias, reafirmando a relevância de uma obra que nunca deixou de interrogar o tempo, o amor, a dor e a esperança.
“M.ART II por Cabral Nunes” afirma-se, assim, como um reencontro: entre o artista e o percurso que o trouxe até aqui, entre a obra e o público, e entre a arte e a possibilidade de, ainda e sempre, construir mundos.

The Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny is pleased to announce the exhibition “M.ART II by Cabral Nunes – 40 Years of Artistic Activity”, on view from January 15 to February 28, 2026.
Following a sustained presence in several group exhibitions and a 24-year hiatus from solo exhibitions in Portugal, Cabral Nunes now returns to the national exhibition scene with a show that brings together four decades of artistic production. At a moment when his work is also being presented in the United Arab Emirates, at ReKN, the artistic and cultural space of Sheikha Maryam Al Qassimi, the artist reveals in Lisbon a body of work that offers a comprehensive synthesis of his career.
Using “Cabral Nunes” as his artistic name — signing as an author with both his maternal and paternal surnames — the artist presents in “M.ART II” a deep reflection on both the visible and intimate dimensions of his practice: emotional constellations, experimental territories, and fragmented narratives that permeate his work. Over four decades, Cabral Nunes has developed a singular practice in which diverse languages intersect, traditional techniques engage with contemporary technologies, and experimentation coexists with intimacy.
The exhibition unfolds as a space where the cosmos meets the body, where technology becomes sensitive, and where narratives take shape as constellations reflecting memory, emotion, and imagination. Visitors are invited to encounter works that function as maps of a journey: drawings, paintings, and installations that reveal paths taken and imagined — those that, in the artist’s own words, arise from the “deep ocean” and project themselves into the “Universe where those we loved dance with us.”
Presented at the Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny, a space deeply connected to experimentation, poetic freedom, and the crossing of artistic languages, the exhibition revisits a creative history that spans generations and geographies, reaffirming the relevance of a body of work that has never ceased to question time, love, pain, and hope.
